An old, stone house located in the centre of Bol with five bedrooms, for 9 people, lounge along with dining room and kitchen, courtyard, room with fire place, garden and parking place. In the ground floor there is a studio for 2 people which can be rented separately if the house is hired for a group with group leader. House Misir is positioned on a little square close to everything you need.

About the house

House Misir is equipped with one double bedroom and two single bedrooms with a bathroom on the second floor. On the first floor there are two large bedrooms with double beds with possible two extra single beds which could easily be fitted into the larger of those two bedrooms. Next to the bedrooms a comfortable bathroom is found. Lounge is located on the ground floor along with the dining room and the kitchen with an exit to the courtyard and a separate room with a fire place suitable for grill or dome cooking, across the courtyard. Courtyard leads onto the garden with a designated parking space available for one vehicle.

On the ground floor there is studio for two people. This 20 sq.m. studio is completely separate with its own entrance and it is not included in regular price for the house. But it is possible to hire whole house with studio if it is rented for small group up to maximum 10 people and leader of the group. The staff may be housed separately in a studio.

Owner story and history of the house

I've being coming to Bol since 1996 due to windsurfing and kiteboarding. In the summer of 2011 I bought an old, stone house located in the centre of Bol on the Island of Brac. I bought the house along with all its pertaining stuff from a family which moved to Italy almost 100 years ago. No one lived in the house for precisely 40 years. The house dates from the second half of the 18th century. The house achieved its moments of brilliance at the turn of the 20th century when its owner was a merchant of Bol, Pietro Karničić Misir, after whom the house was named. Its overall condition was rather deteriorated when I bought it, nevertheless there was original carpentry, wooden beams, stone floors and dangerous stairs. It took three years to refurbish the house completely, to battle the woodworm and to fix all new installations.
I tried to save all that was possible including furniture, old decorations and different objects that belonged to the house, with a view of preserving the charm of a real, authentic, antique, traditional, Dalmatian stone house. Inside the house its walls are rough, angles crooked, floors uneven, stairs and the structures between floors are wooden. All these imperfections in my opinion make my house perfect.

Getting around

House Misir is positioned on a little square in the vicinity of a popular coffee shop with a visitors’ terrace overshadowed by an old mulberry tree. However, the thick stone walls of the house provide for an intimate and private atmosphere. An open summer cinema theatre, a primary and a high school are located on the same square. The nearest beach is only 40 m away. Bakery, butchery, grocery shop, waterfront, wine shop, bank, culture centre, restaurants, pharmacy, church and anything else you might need during your stay can be found in the vicinity of the House Misir.

Bol Summer Festival, open summer cinema, a few schools for scuba diving, a few schools for windsurfing, kitesurfing, renting equipment or storage your own, all other water sports, trips, picking mediterranean spices, grapes, figs and olives, cycling, hiking or at least walk, swim, sunbathe and many other possibilities depends on your interest offers to you in Bol. Other things to note

For windsurfers and kiteboarders : the best wind is in spring and summer, scuba divers from late spring until the end of summer, nice for hikers, cyclists, tennis players, reeders etc anytime.
From mid-July to mid-August is high season and very crowded and loud appropriate for young.
Feel and behave like you are in your own home. House rules are cash deposit 500 EUR refundable if there is no damage, check in after 2 pm, check out before 11 am.

A parking place of Holiday Home Misir is included in the price for one vehicle. Cleaning is also included. If you lend on Brac airport find a taxi to Bol. It takes you 15 min. If you lend on Split airport the best acces is a direct catamaran to Bol (55 min) once a day usually around 4 pm, or ferry to Supetar every two hours and than 35 km to Bol by car, bus or taxi. Public transit is convenient.
